This 35 mile journey is the perfect opportunity for any cycling enthusiast to really be able to experience Central Oregon, one of the most bike friendly destinations in the United States, which is especially perfect during late summer and early fall when the weather begins to cool down.
About The Sisters to Smith Rock Scenic Bikeway Journey
For starters, the best thing you will love about the Sisters to Smith Rock Scenic Bikeway journey is that it’s a downhill ride which will take you over rolling terrain.
Your starting point and ending point will both be public parks which have restroom facilities and enclosed restrooms plus drinking water during the summer and fall months.
Many cyclists will be able to ride from Sisters to Smith Rock in one day, while others will do it easily in a round trip, but regardless of how long you decide to ride it you will enjoy the terrain which includes six miles of downhill slope.
Many Historical Points of Interest
Starting in the historical town of Sisters you will enjoy the fact that there are many awesome things to see along the way including “Old West” style buildings in Sisters which have been lovingly maintained over the years to the small town of Terrebonne, the perfect Oregon small town.
During this journey you will also pass the Deschutes River, Cascade Mountains, Crooked River and of course have plenty of great views of Smith Rock State Park, a perfect destination for hiking, camping or spending the day in Central Oregon.
